When Is Emergency Tree Removal Necessary?

If a tree or major limb has fallen on a house, a car, a fence, or another structure, that's an emergency. The structure may be unstable, and the tree is often under tension.

Professional removal is needed to safely lift or cut the tree without causing further damage or injury.

A tree blocking a driveway, road, or entrance — especially one that prevents emergency vehicles from reaching a home — is an emergency situation.

Clearing access is a priority so the property remains reachable.

A tree that's leaning sharply with soil heaving at the base, or a trunk that's actively splitting, may be about to fail. If it could hit a structure or a place where people are, that's an emergency.

Keep people away from the fall zone and request help immediately.

Any tree in contact with power lines is an emergency. Don't approach it, don't try to remove it, and contact your utility right away.

A dead branch in the canopy, a tree that needs trimming, or a stump you want ground are not emergencies — they're routine service requests. Calling them emergencies can slow response for genuine urgent situations.
